Artist statement
Espejismo Nocturno explores an illusory cityscape where desert life and urban form merge after dark. An owl perches atop a cactus, acting as a quiet sentinel within a collaged environment of architectural fragments and saturated pinks and blues. Painted in Mexico, the work reflects a nocturnal landscape shaped by Mexican culture, colour and imagination: a place where nature and constructed space blur into a dreamlike urban mirage, suspended between stillness and watchfulness.
About the artist
Melbourne-based studio and mural artist exploring the relationship between natural and built environments, often through animal figures. She has delivered large-scale murals in Australia, Finland, Portugal, the UK and Mexico.
