It is an international movement where artists transform retired or damaged solar panels into artworks to raise awareness about recycling, climate action, and circular-economy solutions.

We currently have 26 solar panels intervened by 24 artists from 11 countries, and our goal is to reach 50 panels by the end of the year.

Museo Papalote and currently at Studio Berlin

They are donated by recycling partners (including Rafiqui), registered, cleaned, repaired if possible, and prepared as blank canvases for artists.

Acrylic, oil, spray, markers, pigments, ceramic elements, mixed media, and more. Panels are primed, sealed, and archived for long-term conservation.

Artists fill out a short application form. Once approved, they receive a panel and sign the participation agreement.

This varies by exhibition: sometimes the sponsor covers it, sometimes the buyer, sometimes the project.

No. Panels are provided free of charge, but artists are responsible for materials and transportation of their artwork if needed.

Yes. Each panel may include an NFC digital passport linked to a blockchain-based NFT certificate, ensuring traceability and authenticity.

Rafiqui is a recycling-focused nonprofit that donates panels and helps highlight ecological challenges, aligning their mission with Second Life of Solar’s artistic vision.

Yes. Second Life of Solar supports women-focused training in agrivoltaics and digital agriculture, addressing gender inequality in agriculture

All panels provided for artistic intervention are non-functional, retired, or damaged.

Absolutely. The project is designed for itinerant global exhibitions and cultural collaborations.

Through panel donations, funding exhibitions, supporting blockchain integration, providing venues, or sponsoring social-impact programs.

Yes. Works can be sold directly during exhibitions or through our curated online catalog.

10% of every sale is allocated to social and environmental projects. This money is stored in a Bitcoin wallet until the end of each year, ensuring transparent, censorship-resistant, and long-term value preservation.

At the end of each year, token holders vote to select the 10 projects that will receive funding.

Buyers of artwork: 10 tokens

Primarily programs teaching agrivoltaics, digital agriculture, and sustainability to communities — with a focus on women, who represent less than 15% of main agricultural producers in Mexico.

Yes. All payments, royalties, and fund distributions occur via crypto wallets.
Second Life of Solar provides free support to help artists, buyers, and donors open and manage their wallets safely.

Crypto ensures transparent accounting, immediate settlement, cross-border availability, and compatibility with blockchain-based certificates and token governance.

Funds are sent directly to each stakeholder’s crypto wallet according to the standard distribution (artist/project/social fund). No intermediaries, no delays.

Yes. Each panel can include an NFC tag embedded in the frame. When scanned, it links to the artwork’s NFT certificate, showing provenance, artist info, and full traceability on-chain.

The project was born in Mexico and is currently exhibited at Studio Berlin (CDMX), but it is designed as a global itinerant movement with artists and exhibitions across 11+ countries.

Yes. As the project grows into host cities for the 2026 World Cup (Mexico, US, Canada) and later into Europe, Asia, and Africa, the token-based governance ensures a unified, democratic global structure.
