Artist statement
This work reflects on meditation, focus and the power of the body. The figure appears part-human, part-machine: a metallic form that holds both strength and vulnerability. With her head covered, she turns away from the noise of the world and looks inward, relying on inner energy rather than sight. The spinning, hidden head suggests the confusion and overwhelm of modern life, and the constant questioning of how to make the world a better place. Her pose combines yoga, prayer and discipline. Sensuality and strength exist together, raising questions about how femininity is viewed and used today. Is the body the only offering this generation is expected to give? Inspired by futuristic aesthetics and the idea of engineered perfection, the piece explores the boundary between human and robot, softness and metal, suffering and hope. It is a meditation on inner focus and the possibility of creating something meaningful out of chaos.
About the artist
Slovak photographer and painter. After melancholic, nostalgic photographic work she turned to painting, where colour and symbolism play a central role.
