Artist statement
Helios (Greek for “sun”) is a kaleidoscopic celebration of light, energy and renewal. Painted on an upcycled solar panel, it transforms a tool of clean energy into an artwork that honors its radiant source. Inspired by Mexico City’s vibrant visual language, Helios fuses color, geometry and symbolism drawn from Mexican art and the Aztec sun god Tonatiuh. It reflects on humanity’s enduring relationship with the sun and asks how we might renew the technologies that sustain us, envisioning a future illuminated not only by solar power but by the spirit of renewal itself.
About the artist
