Artist statement

This work by Mariamm Peña is a powerful reinterpretation of Roy Lichtenstein’s visual language. Through a female figure built with bold lines and a vibrant dot texture, the artist pays homage to classic Pop Art while adding her personal signature. The contrasts between deep pink, graphic black and bright tones create a dynamic composition that mixes nostalgia and modernity. The intense expression of the face, caught in an emotional instant, turns the piece into a dialogue between the iconic and the intimate, celebrating comic-book aesthetics from a contemporary, female voice.
